Stress, Schmess

I am way too stressed out for 8:30am. Literally, I'm trembling.

What's up? Well, yesterday morning I got a standby order for a meeting today that could potentially last 7 hours. After I got home yesterday afternoon, I get the notice that this meeting is starting at 10am. That's it. No duration, no further instruction. So I didn't sleep well last night. Every time I roused I started worrying about whether I was supposed to do something to prep for this meeting (historically my position generates the package for this meeting), how I was going to get back and forth to this meeting (Miss A's car is in the shop and she has mine), and most importantly, what about lunch?

Anyway, this morning I emailed one of the guys and asked how long the meeting was supposed to last. The answer, maybe two hours. That pissed me off. Mostly because I had worried all night long about trying to support a 7 hour meeting with little to no notice. Secondarily because I'm having to cancel my standing Wednesday lunch date. But what was really, really hacking me off is the appointment I have at 5pm that I was going to have to cancel because of this meeting. I'm still stressed out even though some of the pressure has been relieved.

So in addition to not sleeping well, worrying about work and how I'm going to get back and forth between all three offices all day long without a car, Lacey crapped in her bed for the second morning in a row and Blaze (Satan's cat) pissed on the "Dry Clean Only" rug in front of the fireplace this morning. I actually caught her doing it and I pretty well lost my shit over it.

Then I managed to scare Miss A so badly before I left that I'm lucky I'm not in the ER this morning. I told her goodbye and "left". As usual, I didn't have everything so I came back in the house gathering the things I'd forgotten. She was drying her hair somewhere over in La La Land and I walked into the bathroom with her to say goodbye again. I was going to poke her in the side, but she saw me before I did and she told me if I'd actually touched her before she saw me she probably would have hit me with her hair dryer. Police training and all. Broken facial bones would have completed my morning.

Oh, did I mention PMS? It's not been as bad this month as last, but still...I don't need all this bullshit.

I'm taking the day off tomorrow. It was already planned, but wild horses won't be able to drag me into this place tomorrow. I've got a serious hate on for my job today.
