Domesti-pades

So school is finished for a month. The Kinesiology final was a piece of cake, thankfully. I guess I studied the right things and remembered the rest.

Anyway, yesterday I finally began to feel like I was regaining my sanity somewhat. By sanity, I think I mean control over my life, but I'll have to let you know on that one. I was astonished yesterday when I looked at the calendar and realized that Christmas was a mere two weeks away.

Oh yeah, if you haven't written your letter to Santa yet, you can do it here. It doesn't matter how old you are, Santa will write you a letter back. I promise.

Anyway, last night when I called home to let Miss A know she needed to run all the tattooed bikers out the backdoor before I got home. She told me they'd had a rather exciting evening. Apparently Blaze brought a mouse in and dumped it on the living room rug. It promptly got up and ran around the living room. Rosie trounced it and picked it up in her mouth. Miss A told her to take it outside so she spit it back out on the rug. It was injured or stunned by this point so Miss A put on her biohazard suit (read as, got the pliers) and flung the poor bastard out into the front yard. Apparently, it wasn't dead as Blaze went outside, brought it back in, and let it loose in the house again. It ran off into the spare room and it hasn't been seen since. Sigh... I'll be following my nose for the next few days.

It's okay though as the house is absolutely wrecked. Considering the cleaning lady came for a visit Friday, it's really sad. Nothing is dirty, it's just that paper and stuff has been piled on every available flat surface. I've been cleaning a semester's worth of paper and books out of my car. There's Christmas gifts starting to trickle in from friends. I made the idiotic decision to make Tooth Fairy Pouches for each of the nieces and nephews so there's yarn everywhere. PaperbackSwap books that need to be wrapped and shipped are piled up on the table. Not to mention the mail. Good goobledy golley at all the mail coming in every day. JC Penney's keeps sending us catalogs. Every day at least one for each of us, usually it's two though.

And speaking of mail, what's with people not checking their email regularly? I've got one book that needs to go out, but I need a confirmation and the chic doesn't check her email on any kind of regular schedule that I can tell. Ugh! I'm going to send it anyway with a note if I don't hear from her today.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this evening. I have a plan for cooking dinner and there's lots to get done around the house. I cannot wait to put on my sweats (er, maybe shorts) and piddle around my house with no worries as to when I have to leave or study.

Hmm... Christmas cards.... I've got to do that soon. Hmm...

Why is it everyone has cats that catch mice but me? Mine is so lazy and could care less! We've had to resort to mouse traps. Ick!
